I was born in the Netherlands, but currently reside in the United States. I was introduced to the world of chess at the age of ten, and quickly became hooked. I have been a chess player ever since.
My love of chess is matched only by my love of numbers. When I am not playing chess, I am usually busy crunching some numbers or writing some code.
I have been playing on the Internet Chess Club at Chess.com for over seven years now. In that time, my rating has gone up from about 2200 to 2197. In 2005, I was ranked as the #4 player in the United States for online rated games.
In addition to being an active chess player, I have been a software developer for over 13 years now. I have been working with the .NET framework since .NET 1.0, and have a working knowledge of most of the common .NET languages. I am a Visual Basic coder by trade, but have recently been working with C# more and more as well.
My current employer, a large manufacturing company, is run entirely by Visual Basic programmers.
