Mew personality type is INFP, and this is why they will not be accepting of the change. They also won’t be accepting of the new and improved Mew, and that’s because it doesn’t go with the “I am Mew” mentality. It’s okay to change Mew, but if you can’t see why, then I’m not sure what you’re even doing with yourself. You do know that they changed Mew’s design, right? That’s significant enough to warrant a change in attitude.
Once again, if you want to change Mew’s design, then fine. Just don’t expect me to rationalize it.
Also, for those who say that Mew and Celebi are different, and that they shouldn’t be compared: Mew and Celebi are both Legendary Pokémon that can transform into other Pokémon, but they are also very different. Mew is the first Pokémon to be revealed as a legend (in the games) and is also the first Legendary Pokémon (in the anime).
Mew is a Psychic type Pokémon introduced in Generation 1. It is known as the "New Species Pokémon". So rare that it is still said to be a mirage by many experts. Only a few people have seen it worldwide. When viewed through a microscope, this POKéMON’s short, fine, delicate hair can be seen.
