The movie is about a family in the early days of the depression, struggling to make ends meet. It’s also about a family of gypsies who are forced into a home after their gypsy caravan is wrecked. At the time of the wreck, the family is living in a small town in Missouri, called Rockwell. The trailer also features scenes from Rockwell, some of which are taken from the book, but some are from other locations in Missouri or from the film itself. The trailer doesn’t really show us all that much about the family of gypsies. It’s not even clear whether all of them live together in one place, or if each family has an encampment in different places in the woods. The trailer doesn’t help us answer this question. If you watch the trailer, you’ll see that it does show us some gypsies wandering around in the woods, probably trying to avoid hungry hunters.
