Charlie Benante personality type is ISTP, which is an “I,” so he is an introverted, self-reliant type. He describes himself as “funny, kind of nerdy, and a bit of a loner” (Davis, 2008, p. 231). Benante also mentioned that he likes to be alone, but at the same time, he likes to be around people. He does not want to be the center of attention, unlike his bandmate Joey Belladonna. Benante also said that he is a good listener and has a good memory, although he admitted that he might not be as smart as his bandmates. Benante is very analytical. This may be because of his ISTP personality type, which is indicative of the “I” thinking process (Visser, 1999). Benante also has a good sense of humor and a dry sense of humor. Benante found his sense of humor through his youth and through his bandmates. He believes that humor is the best way to relieve stress. According to Benante, “I always think if I had a better sense of humor I could be a better person” (Davis, 2008, p. 231).
