It is said that INFPs are "cautious" when it comes to relationships because they have a hard time trusting. In my case, I don't want to sound too cruel, but I can see how it can be true. INFP's care about their loved ones, and they want to make sure they are happy. This is why we may seem "cautious" when we date out. Even though we do care about you, we may not tell you straight away. This is because we want to make sure we won't hurt you and we don't want you to feel hurt that we haven't told you sooner. As an INFP, I am very "cautious" when it comes to relationships. I spend a lot of time thinking about them and where they stand. I like to keep people at bay and if someone gets too close, I will get nervous and push them away because I still think we aren't good enough for each other.
