Jim James personality type is INFP, which stands for Introversion, iNtuition, Feeling, and Perceiving.
The INFP personality type is defined by the following five functions (also called "the five functions of the mind"). These are:
Introverted Feeling (Fi) – perception of emotion and motivation
Extroverted Sensing (Se) – perception of objective reality
Extroverted Intuition (Ne) – perception of ideas and abstract concepts
Introverted Thinking (Ti) – perception of logic and reason
Extroverted Judging (J) – perception of cause and effect
We can think of these functions as the various ways in which we experience the world. They are "dominant" functions because they are most readily available to us, and they are "perceiving" functions because they are more about perceiving than they are about doing. The dominant functions are also the largest in their respective group.
These functions can also be understood as "wings" because people with the Introverted Feeling function have a strong preference for the world of feelings and emotions, which is why that function is often called "Feeling".
