Ric Ocasek personality type is ISFP, and his is a taurean, so I’m not surprised that he is so outgoing and friendly. I also think is that he was the type to just say what he felt and not worry about how it would be received. So I think that he just told her that he is gay, and she just accepted it. It’s not like it’s a big deal. I think that there were loads of people like him at the time.
And I think that the part about the dream is very spot on. If she had known, I’m sure she would have realized. I think that she was probably empathetic and realizing that he didn’t want to talk about it, and also realizing that he is gay. I think that she was trying to be supportive and encouraging, and she’s trying to steer the conversation in a different direction.
The thing that I like most about this is that it’s not about picking sides. It’s not about deciding whether or not she knew or not. It’s about understanding that she didn’t know.
