I think it’s important to know that I was one of the people who didn’t like when (Mormon Tabernacle Choir) sang “Battle Hymn of the Republic” at the Olympics. I didn’t think it was appropriate because I was gay, which is part of the reason I decided to come out. They were still singing the hymn in the church when I came out, so I was like, no, you guys can’t believe in God and sing “Battle Hymn of the Republic.”
