"I'm a very, very impulsive person," he says. "I like to think of myself as a very gifted performer. I'm not afraid of the spotlight. I'm not afraid of performing."
He credits his impulsive nature with his success, in that he wouldn't have gotten to where he is without it. "I know that in order to get to where I am in life, I have to keep moving forward," he says. "There's no time for getting stuck."
But when it comes to his relationship with fellow actor Adam Levy, O'Donoghue admits that he is less impulsive when it comes to matters of the heart.
"I don't know if it's because I've been in the business long enough to be more careful but it's definitely not an impulsive decision," he says. "When I meet someone I really like, I really like."
And that's exactly what happened with Levy. "We met at a party in New York City," O'Donoghue says.
