    Hank Williams, Jr. is the son of Hank Williams, Sr., a famous musician from the early 20th century. Hank Williams, Sr.’s music was a crossover from country to pop, and he had a huge hit with “Honky Tonk Blues” in 1939. His son Hank Williams, Jr. became interested in country music at an early age, and joined his father’s band at age 9. He was kicked out of the band at the age of 12 because he was too young for the job. At age 14, he began playing guitar himself, and he picked up the nickname “The Hillbilly Shakespeare.” He married his first wife, Audrey Mae Williams, in 1948. He joined the US Army in 1952, and the army band he played in became popular. He was discharged in 1956 due to alcoholism, which led to his divorce from Audrey Mae in 1959. He married Audrey Mae again in 1960 while he was still drinking heavily. The marriage broke up after two years.

    Randall Hank Williams (born May 26, 1949), known professionally as Hank Williams Jr., or alternatively as “Bocephus,” is an American singer-songwriter and musician. His musical style is often considered a blend of Southern rock, blues, and traditional country. He is the son of country music singer Hank Williams and the father of Hank Williams III and Holly Williams.
