Her parents were very strict and controlling, so they often disallowed her to go out and play, as they believed that Margo needed more discipline and structure in her life, instead of being allowed to have fun. They also had a very strict list of rules and regulations for her, which made her feel like she wasn’t allowed to do anything she wanted. One of the rules she broke was not to go out without her parents knowing about it. She had been out shopping with a friend, who called to talk to her parents on the phone. It was after this call that she was grounded from going out for a week. Her parents heavily criticized her for breaking the rule.
