Sultana learned the guitar at age 10 and has never looked back. At 15 she began playing shows in Seattle, Washington with bands like Cloud Nothings and Old Soul. She had the opportunity to open for bands like Laura Marling and Interpol in her early twenties, and released her debut EP, The Tents Are Moving, in November 2015. In April 2016, she released her debut album, Divers, which was hailed by Rolling Stone as one of the Best Albums of the Year. In August of that year, she played a sold-out show at Seattle’s Paramount Theatre.
In 2017, Sultana toured extensively in support of Divers and opened for acts like Jake Bugg and Florence + The Machine. She also performed on Late Night With Seth Meyers and Jimmy Kimmel Live! in March and April respectively. She also performed a sold-out show at New York City’s Brooklyn Steel in May.
Tash Sultana (born 15 June 1995) is an Australian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, described as a "one-person band". Sultana's 2016 single "Jungle" was voted into third place in the Triple J Hottest 100, 2016; Sultana also had three songs voted into the Triple J Hottest 100, 2017.
