Van McCann personality type is ISTP, 5w4, this is what I'm dealing with.
I'm not saying that all ISTPs are like that, but it's the kind of thing that can happen to someone who is not paying attention to their own needs or emotions.
This is probably the most difficult type of personality to understand. They are not disconnected, but they are not very aware of their own needs either. If you are in a relationship with an ISTP, you should try to figure out if their behaviour is the result of a lack of awareness, or if it's just how they are.
The best thing that you can do is just be patient. Try to understand them, without expecting them to understand you.
If you're in a relationship with an ISTP, try to avoid the "I-need-you-I-need-you-I-need-you" thing, because it's not going to work. You are not an extension of them, and they are not your emotional crutch.
Just be there for them when they need you, but don't expect them to be there for you. They are not your emotional crutch either.
