Gaige personality type is ENTP, so this is clearly not his fault. But I can't help but feel like he's trying too hard to fit the mold of the stereotypical "bad guy."
There's also the matter of the game's story. It has this weird, paper-thin plot that revolves around a group of people trying to stop "The Darkness" from invading the world. There are hints that this is really a war between two different factions of… something. I don't know what. I never got that far in the game, but I don't think I had to in order to understand it.
I do love the concept of the game, though. Despite it being a side-scroller, it still manages to look pretty cool thanks to its 3D effects. This is thanks to the game's artstyle, which is similar to Borderlands' but not Afro Samurai , which is a good thing. The environments are nice and colorful, and all of the characters have their own unique animations that have some kind of subtle comic relief.
The characters themselves are also interesting. I mean, I wouldn't say they're THAT interesting, but they're always fun to look at.
