Taneleer Tivan has a strange past. He was born in Tahiti, and as a young child was taken to the United States, where he lived for the next few years. He was sent back to Tahiti at around the age of ten, but his mother’s sacrifice to save him meant that he had to be returned to the US.
It is believed that during his time back in the US, Taneleer formed his collection of artifacts from around the world. He apparently visited Africa for his collection, but he visited it so frequently that he became well known amongst the locals.
When he was older, he returned to Tahiti. His mother died not long after he got back, and Taneleer’s father died shortly after that. The young Taneleer was sent back to the US once again, where he lived until his death at the age of fifty-seven.
