Epictetus personality type is INFJ, which is the rarest of the 16 types of people. The INFJ personality type is just as rare as the ISTP and ESFP, and as such, they are not as common as the other 16 types of people. Being one of the rarest personality types on the planet, that means that only 1% of people on the planet are INFJs. Even that is a very generous estimate.

For the first time since I started doing this series of articles, I am going to include some information about how rare and common each of the 16 types of people is found to be. I am also going to include a link to a graph so you can see how rare or common each type of people is. I have done my best to make this information as accurate as possible, but there are still a lot of things that are not completely certain about these statistics, so they are most likely subject to change.

Each of the 16 types of people is most likely to be found in a certain country. For example, people with a sense of wisdom will most likely be found in English speaking countries. This is why a world map looked at in a certain way can show us a lot about different personality types.

Epictetus (c. 55 – 135 AD) was a Greek Stoic philosopher. He was born a slave at Hierapolis, Phrygia (present day Pamukkale, Turkey) and lived in Rome until his banishment, when he went to Nicopolis in northwestern Greece for the rest of his life. His teachings were written down and published by his pupil Arrian in his Discourses and Enchiridion.

Epictetus taught that philosophy is a way of life and not just a theoretical discipline. To Epictetus, all external events are beyond our control; we should accept calmly and dispassionately whatever happens. However, individuals are responsible for their own actions, which they can examine and control through rigorous self-discipline.
