    George Edward Moore, usually referred to as G. E. Moore (born November 4, 1873 - died October 24, 1958) was an English philosopher who studied and taught at Cambridge University, including Trinity College, where he was a member of the Cambridge Apostles' secret society, as was Alfred North Whitehead. He is, alongside Bertrand Russell, Ludwig Wittgenstein, and before them, Gottlob Frege, one of the founders of analytical philosophy, which now predominates in the English-speaking academic world.
