    Olavo Luiz Pimentel de Carvalho (Campinas, SP - Brazil, April 29, 1947) is a Brazilian philosopher, essayist, digital influencer and ideologist who was once a journalist and astrologer. He is considered a representative of conservatism in Brazil.

    Since 2005 he has lived in Richmond, Virginia, United States. He is said to be responsible for the emergence of the Brazilian New Right and considered guru of the President of the Republic Jair Bolsonaro, which Carvalho rejects.

    As a writer, his first book is from 1980, entitled The Image of Man in Astrology. In 2013 he released The Least You Need to Know to Not Be an Idiot. His other books are O Jardim das Aflições (1995), O Imbecil Coletivo (1996), among others.
