We see here that the intelligence of the animal is correlated with the dominant function, but there is no correlation between intelligence and the auxiliary function. This means that while the ESTJ is able to use Extraverted Thinking to determine whether or not grizzly bears are more dangerous than panda bears, the ISFJ is not able to use Introverted Sensing to determine whether or not the grizzly bear is more intelligent than the panda bear. Why? Because ISFJs are not very good at using their sensing-judging function to process information. It is not that they are incapable of using this function, but that they are not very good at it. To put it another way, the ISFJ does not have a very good I-Judging function, so they do not have a very good way of telling how smart something is.
This phenomenon holds true even when we compare animals with similar intelligence to animals with dissimilar intelligence. Consider, for example, the cat versus the dog.
