Datu Talagbusao is a famous Filipino politician and the incumbent Ruling Chief of the Province of Sulu. He is also the Chairman of the Bangsamoro Transition Commission. He is known for his charisma and his leadership skills. He is the first and only Sulu (former Sultanate and province in the Philippines) and former Philippine Senator to be elected as Vice President of the Philippines under the administration of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
He was born on August 5, 1959 in Sulu, Philippines. His father was a Muslim leader and his mother was a Christian convert. He is the eldest child of Ismael “Zamaque” Talagbusao, a Muslim leader and a former Sulu Governor, and Doyet “Doy” Talagbusao, a Christian convert and a former teacher. He has three siblings: sisters Imelda and Marife and brother Carlo.
He is married to Annabelle “Nabelle” Maquiling who is also a politician in the Philippines.
