Taro Kagami (Japanese: 鏡太郎, Hepburn: Kagami Tarō) is the main protagonist of the Death Note manga pilot. The chapter in which he appears contains many elements that were ultimately discarded from the mainstream Death Note manga. For instance, the pilot chapter was meant to be more "horror-oriented" and also presented the possibility of Death Note victims returning to life.
