Nicolas Dupont-Aignan, born March 7, 1961 in Paris (15th), is a French politician.
He is successively a member of the Rassemblement pour la République (RPR), the Rassemblement pour la France (RPF) and the Union pour un mouvement populaire (UMP), before founding (in 1999) and chairing Debout la France (DLF), formerly Debout la République, a political current that he transformed in 2008 into a party claiming Gaullism and sovereignty.
He has been mayor of Yerres (Essonne) from 1995 to 2017 and deputy since 1997. Candidate for the 2012 and 2017 presidential elections, he received 1.79% and 4.70% of the votes cast, respectively. In the run-up to the 2017 election, he entered into a governing alliance with Marine Le Pen, which lapsed after the election of Emmanuel Macron.
