    Corazon Aquino personality type is ISTJ, and she was the first female president of a major country in Asia.

    She was elected as President of the Philippines on February 25, 1986, and was sworn in the following day. She won a landslide victory against her nearest rival, Ferdinand Marcos, who had been President since 1965. She is the only female head of state in Asia and the only woman to be elected as president of a major country in Asia.

    She was one of those who supported the 1989 Philippine coup d'état that toppled the Marcos regime. She was a member of the opposition during the 1986 People Power Revolution that overthrew Marcos, and she served as President from 1986 to 1992.

    She was the first woman to be nominated by a major party for the presidency in a major country in Asia, and she became the first female President of the Philippines. She is also the second female president of the Philippines after Corazon Aquino's mother, María Corazon Cojuangco Aquino, who served from 1960 to 1965.

    In 1992, she ran for a second term but her bid was unsuccessful, as she lost to Fidel Ramos of Lakas Kampi CMD on a vote-counting controversy.

Corazon Aquino was the most prominent figure of the 1986 People Power Revolution, which ended the 21-year rule of President Ferdinand Marcos. She was named Time magazine's Woman of the Year in 1986. Prior to this, she had not held any elective office. A self-proclaimed "plain housewife", she was married to Senator Benigno Aquino Jr., the staunchest critic of President Marcos. She emerged as leader of the opposition after her husband was assassinated on 21 August 1983 upon returning to the Philippines from exile in the United States. The triumph of the peaceful People Power Revolution and the ascension of Corazon Aquino into power signaled the end of authoritarian rule in the Philippines and the dawning of a new era for Filipinos.
