Komaba Ichirō is the character designer of the visual novel Death Parade, a story developed by the Japanese studio PQube in which people's fates are decided via random chance. He also designed both the protagonist and antagonist characters of Sansha Sanyou, an anime television series produced by Studio Gokumi that aired in 2015. He is also an art director for the Japanese game company Tamsoft.
In April 2015, an anime adaptation of Death Parade began broadcasting, with Komaba Ichirō providing character designs for the main characters, including protagonist Koichirō and antagonist Arata. He was also credited as art director for the anime.
Komaba Ichirō is a fan of the rock band Linked Horizon, and in 2011 created a fan project to produce a music video for the band's song "Renaissance".
