David Alexander personality type is INTP, and I am an INTJ. I do not know anyone who has this type, and I certainly don't know anyone who is an INTJ. I understand that the MBTI system is nothing more than a guide for therapists and consultants, and that it can be used as a starting point for further diagnosis and exploration, but I do not believe it provides a great deal of insight into the nature of the INTP. If one really wants to understand what makes an INTP tick, the best place to start is by reading the book Autobiography of a Face-Heel.
The title of this entry is ironic. What makes an INTP tick? What is the nature of the INTP's internal representation of the world? In other words, what is the nature of the internal logic of the INTP?
The following is an analysis of the internal logic of the INTP. I do not believe that it is complete or definitive, but it should provide a picture of what makes an INTP tick. It is a description of the INTP's internal representation of reality, and it should be useful to those who want to understand what makes a person tick.
