I have a lot of thoughts on the Myers-Briggs personality test, and I'll be writing about them in the next few weeks as I use it for my own purposes. But for now, I'd like to make a short comment about what I see as the strengths and weaknesses of the test.
On the one hand, the test is a brilliant tool for getting at the true nature of a person. For example, one of my business partners is an ESTJ. We always have a great time working together because she's very direct and knows what she wants.
On the other hand, the test is a poor predictor of behavior. A woman with an INFJ personality type can be very cold, and I often wonder if that has to do with her being an INFJ.
