Randall personality type is ENFP, which means that I'm a good friend and a good listener. I don't ever want to embarrass anyone or hurt anyone's feelings, and I'm naturally empathetic and compassionate. So, I guess that's why I'm so drawn to the idea of helping children with autism.
I've been interested in autism for a long time, but only really started to take action about it after I graduated from college and lost my job. I had been planning on going back to school after graduation, but the economy was really bad and it looked like I wouldn't be able to find a job that would allow me to go back. Like any other self-respecting millennial, I was a little bummed out by this. It didn't help that the job market was going in the wrong direction in general, because the recession hit a few years after I graduated.
Once I finally got a job, I continued to research autism and the possible treatments available. I found out about a support group called Autism Speaks, which was a non-profit organization dedicated to finding a cure for autism. It also ran the Autism Speaks Walk, which is a marathon race to raise awareness and funds for autism research.
