Kurt Busch (born December 12, 1979) is an American professional stock car racing driver who drives the No. 41 Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet for his own team, Furniture Row Racing. He is a two-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion, having won the championship in 2007 and 2011 and he is also a former NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) and IndyCar Series (IndyCar) champion.
Busch is also known for his many confrontations with other drivers, most notably Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, and Kevin Harvick.
Busch has been involved in several controversies during his career. In 2001, at the age of 18, Busch was involved in an altercation with Tony Stewart after he knocked down both Stewart and Jeff Gordon on pit road prior to the start of the 2001 Daytona 500. The incident resulted in Stewart punching Busch, breaking his nose. Stewart was suspended for the first six races of the 2001 season due to this incident. Busch was fined $100,000 for his involvement in the incident. In 2004, Busch had an altercation with Denny Hamlin which led to his first NASCAR probation.
Kurt Thomas Busch (born August 4, 1978), is an American professional stock car racing driver who is currently a free agent. He last competed full-time in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, driving the No. 41 Ford Fusion for Stewart-Haas Racing. He was the 2004 NASCAR Nextel Cup Series champion. He is the older brother of 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Kyle Busch. The brothers are second-generation racing drivers; their father, Tom, won several NASCAR-sanctioned events.
