Aparna personality type is ESTJ, or the "Militant" or "Orderly" type. This style is probably the most common in the world, and is one of the most common in India too. Here, one can find a wide variety of "Top-Down" leadership styles, such as the militaristic and authoritarian style of Indian bureaucrats and politicians. As we've seen, most Westerners typify the ESTJ personality type as the most "Top-Down" of all the eight Indian personality types. But in most Indian cultures, this is no longer the case.
For instance, most Eastern and Eastern-looking Asian and Pacific Islander cultures tend to be more "bottom-up" in their leadership styles. This means that there is more emphasis on "leader/follower" dynamics than in Indian, European, and North American cultures. In the Pacific Islands, for example, there is more emphasis on consensus decision-making than in the Indian and Western cultures we've looked at so far.
In my book Becoming Who I Never Was I propose that we can divide all personality types into two basic categories: "top-down" and "bottom-up".
