He is a son of Park Jin-young and Park Bo-young. He has a younger brother, Park Jinyoung and a younger sister, Park Hyejin. His maternal grandfather is a chaebol, businessman Lee Byung-chul.
Park Jin-young attended and graduated from the Gyeonggi Institute of Vocational Education in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. He started his career at age nine when he became a trainee for S.M.
