Cedric (Swap AU) personality type is ENTP, and I'm a very ENTP-y person. I just think that this works because we're both thinkers and nothing I've read about ENTPs (at least, nothing I've read about ENTPs who aren't fictional characters) really jives with how I see them. When I started reading the Harry Potter books, I didn't think it was weird that Cedric was a bit of a geek, and it certainly didn't bother me that he was a little bit of a walking stereotype. And while he did get on my nerves a bit, he was still a well-written and interesting character. It seemed that JKR was able to create a character that we can all relate to in that we're all a little bit different but we probably have a few things in common with him. I find that characters who are a little bit different from us tend to be more interesting and have more depth.
In my experience, people don't really care about the popular kids at Hogwarts. They might be nice to them, but it's not like they're going to sit around and talk about what a great time they had with them. In my experience, the only people who really hang out with popular kids are popular themselves.
