She knew that if she didn’t deliver the needed results quickly, she would lose her job, and so she was constantly working, hardly having time for herself or her family. Then, when she was managing research and development at Evraz, things were quite different—no one was pressuring her to work harder or faster, and she had a much greater opportunity to focus on her own projects rather than on the projects of others.
Polyakova also says that she has a very strong sense of self and is somewhat proud of it.
