Megan Phelps-Roper personality type is INFJ, and she says she has spent her life trying to figure out whether she should tell people who she is — and how — and how to fit into this world and what her purpose is. The first person she told, though, was a friend who was like a sister to her, and that was the one person who didn’t react well to the news.
“I felt so bad about it,” she said. “I went through a whole lot of internal processing about guilt and self-loathing. This is a really dark part of my life, and I can’t be that person anymore. I have to be a better person.”
After that experience, she told a few more people, but then stopped. Phelps-Roper started a blog, which she says was a way for her to process her experiences and reconcile them with her own self-image. It also offered a platform for others struggling with their past to talk about it. Phelps-Roper now has over 1,000 followers on Twitter (@MeganPhelpsR) and has been quoted in The New York Times, TIME, CNN and Glamour.
