Bort personality type is ESTJ, the type that values duty, duty to the law, duty to the state, duty to the country, duty to the community, duty to the family, duty to the family unit. A military career is not so much about duty to country or duty to state or duty to community or duty to family at all. It's duty to the unit. Duty to the unit is so strong that it can be a detriment to duty to other things outside of the unit.
In the military, an ESTJ would have a lot of problems because the military does not really value duty to country all that highly. In fact, I don't know of any military career where you get a medal if you do your duty to country. You get a medal if you do your duty to state or your duty to community or your duty to your unit, but your duty to country may be a big part of how you spend your time, but it's not a big part of how you're rewarded.
So an ESTJ is going to have a problem being in the military.
