All that said, I was not the former, but the latter. I was the quiet, humble, shy, and pessimistic one. I was the one who would be in my room alone and not talk to anyone. I was the one who would be the first to say "sorry", and would apologize for my actions. I was the one who would be constantly picked on by everyone because I was so quiet and reserved, which was also a reason why I was depressed. I was the one who would be bullied and picked on because of my weight and my height, which was also a reason I was depressed. I was the one who would be made fun of for being so shy and timid, which was also a reason why I had an eating disorder.
I'm not saying they ruined my life, or that they were completely to blame for my eating disorder, but they definitely played a large role in my eating disorder. And this is why I always say that you should never allow your family to influence or bully you into doing something you don't want to do (whether it be talking back, cutting, self-harming, etc).
