Odda the Younger is the son of Odda the Elder, and, as such, a member of King Æthelwulf's court (and subsequently King Alfred's.) Though not initially introduced as a fiercely malevolent character, he grows to establish himself as one of Season 1's main antagonists, through his opportunism, his deceitful ways, and his strong rivalry with Uhtred. He meets his fate at the hands of his own father, who stabs him out of rage and shame on realising his son's betrayal of King Alfred.
