When the government was forced to admit that an alien craft had come down in Roswell, New Mexico on a clear day in July of 1947, a young Air Force officer by the name of Walter Haut was sent to investigate. Haut saw a strange metal disc with a thin film of ice on the underside, and the craft had a large dent in one side.
A little later on, Haut was called into the office of Air Force General Roger Ramey who told him that they had received a message from a flying saucer that said that it was from the planet Venus. The general said that there would be no more flying saucers from Venus. They had been watching UFO's for years and had decided that they must be from some other planet. Ramey wanted Haut to make a report to the effect that the flying saucer must have had a mechanical malfunction.
Haut refused to do it.
