Félix was the daughter of a doctor, who was also a writer. She was one of six children. Félix left high school at age 16 to work in the press office of the Mexican Ministry of Public Education.
She went on to study fashion design at the National School of Art and Design (Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas) in Mexico City.
Félix began working in the film industry in 1952 at the studio established by filmmaker Emilio "El Indio" Fernández. She went on to make over 60 films for almost every major studio in Mexico.
Félix's first important role in movies was in the 1955 Mexican film "El Último de la Fila" (The Last in Line), which earned her a nomination for best supporting actress at the 1956 Mexican Film Academy Awards.
