    Frederic Lewy

    Friedrich Heinrich Lewy, later renamed Frederic Henry Lewey, (born January 28, 1885, in Berlin, died October 5, 1950, Harverford, Pennsylvania) is a German and American physician, neuroanatomist and psychiatrist known for having discovered in 1912 the cellular inclusions of protein substance observed in certain pathologies of the nervous system and today called Lewy bodies. These abnormalities are found in certain forms of Parkinson's disease or in certain dementias known as dementia with Lewy bodies.
