Serge Tisseron, born on March 8, 1948 in Valence (Drôme), is a French psychiatrist and psychoanalyst. He is since 2015 a member of the Académie des technologies [1].
Serge Tisseron studied literature before turning to medicine. His thesis, Contribution à l'utilisation de la bande dessinée comme instrument pédagogique : une tentative graphique sur l'histoire de la psychiatrie, was defended in 1975 [2], [3]. She already presents the elements that will be found in her future work. The comic strip on the one hand opens up to the work on images, while history opens up to family secrets. Highly noticed, the thesis earned her a first invitation to the Angoulême International Comics Festival.
In 1976, Serge Tisseron passed his certificate of specialized studies in psychiatry. His dissertation deals with the pedagogical use of comics.
