Vladimir Aleksandrovich Dzhanibekov, is a former cosmonaut who made five space flights. He is known for having participated in the rescue mission to the Soyuz 7 spacecraft and for having noticed an obvious manifestation of the intermediate axis theorem, calling the Dzhanibekov effect the periodic axis change of a nut that rotates in space.

Both Dzhanibekov and other Russian cosmonauts claim to have seen angels on their expeditions. To this day, science cannot explain these events.

The experiences of this cosmonaut inspired the movie Salyut-7 (2017), in this case the actor Vladimir Vdovichenkov plays the character #VladimirFyodorov, which would be inspired by Dzhanibekov.
