Eugenio Montale personality type is INTJ, in function, especially in his art. He actually wrote a piece about this. It was called “The Syntax of the Image.” There is a very interesting essay in his work about how he realized that the coloration of the objects in his paintings are in fact his own personality type. The things are sort of indirect, but they are certainly in many ways related to who he is, and the things he feels are important, and he’s searching for in life.
The music I made with Michael was about looking for an inner voice that I did not hear. And I did not hear it because I did not listen to my inner voice. I heard too many other people’s voices. And I was listening to myself even less than other people. This is the way I was raised by my parents, who both had to overcome their own neuroticism to become who they are today. And I did not learn this from them. They were very successful, very well-adjusted, and very quiet people. If you look at my personality type, you can see that it is very much like theirs. But I was the opposite of them.
Eugenio Montale (12 October 1896 – 12 September 1981) was an Italian poet, prose writer, editor and translator, and recipient of the 1975 Nobel Prize in Literature.
