    INTP (XwX)

James M. Cain personality type is INTP, or Introverted, Intuitive, and Thinking Perceivers.

There are a few variations of this personality type. If we go back to the INTP description, it says that INTPs can also be called Introverted Intuitive Thinkers, or just INTPs.

For the sake of simplicity, though, I'm going to stick with all three of those names, since they all apply to the same personality type.

We all have our own definitions, though. I happen to know that some people refer to INTPs as "the geeks".

But even if you don't know what a nerd is, you're probably pretty familiar with introversion, right? You probably have an idea of what kind of personality you're dealing with when you hear the word introvert.

What's the difference between an introvert and an extrovert? Well, that's easy. Extroverts are outgoing and enthusiastic about the world around them. They love socializing and making friends, and they like meeting new people.

Introverts, on the other hand, prefer to spend their time alone. This is especially true for introverts like INTPs.

James Mallahan Cain (July 1, 1892 – October 27, 1977) was an American author and journalist. Cain vehemently opposed labeling, but he is usually associated with the hardboiled school of American crime fiction and is seen as one of the creators of the roman noir. His crime novels The Postman Always Rings Twice (1934), Serenade (1937), Mildred Pierce (1941) and Double Indemnity (1944) became well known movies.
