    Jane Austen
    INTJ

    INTJ (5w4)

Jane Austen personality type is INTJ, and she’s also a semi-extrovert, which is very rare.

So we have to do a little bit of a mental flip and think of her as a very introverted and reserved person who is very creative and very intelligent and very artistic and has exceptional capacities.

I think the most common mistake that people make is that they think of her as a socialite and that she was just someone who was always in the drawing room, and she was just a really, really great conversationalist. She was not. She was an introvert who did not like to be around people, and she had a lot of creative things to do and she did them, and she loved doing them.

That’s why we can see that while she had a lot of friends and she had a lot of admirers and she had a lot of comfort in her life, she didn’t like people to interfere with her creative activities. They would sort of scatter when they saw her work because they knew that they would interrupt whatever creative thing that she was doing.

Jane Austen (UK: ; 16 December 1775 – 18 July 1817) was an English novelist known primarily for her six major novels, which interpret, critique and comment upon the British landed gentry at the end of the 18th century. Austen's plots often explore the dependence of women on marriage in the pursuit of favourable social standing and economic security. Her works critique the novels of sensibility of the second half of the 18th century and are part of the transition to 19th-century literary realism.
