Stuart Reges personality type is INTP, or Introverted, Intuitive, Thinking, Perceiving. This is a common type for software engineers.
I’ve been working with Stuart for a few months now, and I really enjoy working with him. Before we started working together, I was a little concerned about his his ability to do programming work. He is a smart person, but he is very indirect in the way that he expresses himself. He tends to speak in abstractions or catch phrases that are hard to translate into specific tasks.
I mentioned that to him, and he said that this was the way he needed to work. He said that he had found that if he tried to get more concrete in the language, he would get frustrated and lose focus.
“It feels like I’m giving too much information,” he explained. “Once I get frustrated because I think I should be more direct, but I can’t find the words to be direct. It’s like I’m stuck between ‘I don’t know how to do that’ and ‘I don’t want to do that.'”
