    “Mehmed Sabahaddin”, Prince Sabahaddin (born ‎13 February 1879, Istanbul - d. 30 June 1948, Neuchâtel Canton, Switzerland), Turkish politician and thinker. His father is the son of Georgian Halil Rıfat Pasha, the Ottoman court minister Mahmud Celaleddin Pasha, his mother is Seniha Sultan, the daughter of Sultan Abdulmecid, sister of Sultan Abdulhamid.

    He is one of the first Turkish intellectuals to work in the field of sociology. He was influenced by le Play. Prince Sabahaddin, who defended the political thought he called Decentralization in the thought of liberalism in the Ottoman Empire, II. He was the intellectual leader of the opposition to the Union and Progress, which ruled the empire after the proclamation of the Constitutional Monarchy.[1] Their views are accepted as the basic ideology of the centre-right parties in today's Turkey.[2] He is the founder of the Ottoman Ahrar Party, the first opposition party in Turkish political history.
