    Christopher Columbus
    ENTP

    ENTP (8w7)

Christopher Columbus personality type is ENTP, but with some SP thrown in. (I’m not even sure which side of the brain is dominant here, but I think it’s the left.) His personality is best described as the epitome of the “complex genius.” He had a very strong intuition, and an almost telepathic ability to understand people. He was extraordinarily creative (and I’m not even talking about his scientific endeavors). He also had an immensely curious mind, and an overwhelming need to explore new possibilities.

As you might guess, he was reckless. He was also impulsive, charming, and charismatic. And while he was confident in his abilities, he often underestimated his own abilities, and underestimated the abilities of others around him. He also underestimated the world he had just discovered.

Columbus had some incredible insights into human psychology. He recognized that people were motivated by what they could get out of the world, not by what they could do for the world. And he understood that people can be motivated by both self-interest and altruism at the same time. He also recognized that people are most driven by the future, not by the past.

Christopher Columbus (before 31 October 1451 – 20 May 1506) was an Italian explorer, navigator, and colonist who completed four voyages across the Atlantic Ocean under the auspices of the Catholic Monarchs of Spain. He led the first European expeditions to the Caribbean, Central America, and South America, initiating the permanent European colonization of the Americas. Columbus discovered the viable sailing route to the Americas, a continent which was not then known to the Old World. While what he thought he had discovered was a route to the Far East, he is credited with the opening of the Americas for conquest and settlement by Europeans.

He was born before 31 October 1451 in the territory of the Republic of Genoa (now part of modern Italy).

The name Christopher Columbus is the Anglicisation of the Latin Christophorus Columbus. His name in Ligurian is Cristoffa Corombo, in Italian Cristoforo Colombo, in Spanish is Cristóbal Colón, and in Portuguese is Cristóvão Colombo.
