I’ve met her for the first time in person, at a con in 2016. Her eagerness was contagious, and even though I knew I was probably the only person in the room who would be interested in her comic, I bought it anyway. I didn’t even read it yet, but I knew I wanted to.
And it turns out that she actually made my kind of comic! She spent days, weeks, months, years on it, refining her ideas, building up her characters, and working the details into something truly unique.
It’s hard to read it all at once. You have to pull out one chapter at a time, starting with the beginning of the story, then moving along through the years, to see how it unfolds. But when you do, you find yourself in a world where everything is perfect.
There’s no sign of any struggle or struggle at all. It’s paradise.
