Ezra Klein personality type is ENTJ, with a secondary Te. I didn’t take the Myers-Briggs test but I am sure that, as a human being, I am also an ENTJ and probably a Te. The Myers-Briggs test has been widely criticized for its self-fulfilling prophecy, which is a problem when it comes to personality typing. But some people are so insistent on seeing their type in the world that they will just make the test work for them.
We should start by acknowledging that there are no absolute truths about the world. All we have are theories about the world. And that means that, when it comes to personality typing, there aren’t any absolutes about human behavior. Most of the time, there’s a lot of overlap between different personality types, or it’s just not possible to capture all of the patterns. If you don’t look at enough people and see enough patterns, you might just get lucky and find some that stick.
But it’s still pretty useful to have some personality typing tools in our toolbox.
