“I think that my family’s moving around led me to always try to find something that’s home-like and familiar,” said Torres, who grew up with his parents and older sister in San Antonio and returned there after his soccer career ended. “I think it’s just a part of me. I guess the mentality I take from my family is that you need to be ready to move somewhere else to find what you’re looking for.”
Torres played soccer starting at age 4. His first coach was his dad.
“He actually drove me to my first soccer game,” Torres said.
